Blockchain: Is it all BS? - Literature Review & Logistics Industry Viability Study
Google Docs
This in-depth literature review explores the potential of blockchain technology in enhancing carbon accounting frameworks to address the urgent need for GHG reduction globally.
The review delves into the foundational principles of blockchain, such as its capacity to ensure transparency, security, and trust among users, which are crucial for reliable and verifiable carbon accounting practices. It also examines the historical development of blockchain, from its inception during the financial distrust of the late 2000s to its current applications beyond cryptocurrency, including its integration into logistics and potential in fine arts management.
Additionally, the review highlights the broader implications for blockchain in fostering global climate action initiatives, suggesting that blockchain could underpin a more transparent and accountable carbon management system, essential for meeting international climate goals like those outlined in the Paris Agreement.
This project, was one of my earliest cases of challenging in-depth academic study, writing and topic exploration; causing key personal developments in both my academic writing capabilities, but also personal enlightenment within my passion for academic writing and drawn out project study. A key area I wish to develop and explore further throughout career and academia opportunities.
